Birthday
I turn 22 in like 3hrs I kinda shocked I’m this old, but I’m drunk off of some really good beer so this will be short. My brother is super awesome and got me Marvel vs Capcom three today, this made my day, If you haven’t got it you should! That is all, I will be talking about Warhammer, Ruby, Lisp, Pathfinder and Warmachine in the near future if I remember.
Just a note.
If you go here http://www.w3schools.com/ you may want to go here instead http://w3fools.com/. Also this is a small post, and something nerdy this way comes. I’ll be making a big post about RPG’s this week, and then a summary of something in the Computer Science field I’m looking into. Providing I don’t get sidetracked by Classes. Cocoaheads, and The Code Retreat. So much to do!
In the works
Alright its been awhile and alot has changed since I last updated this thing. So I’m just going to go through whats been happening. First this first I finally made a full switch to Linux, eveny compter systems I personaly own is booting this OS. My laptop is booting Ubuntu with the latest stable version. The reason for this is to destroy the ability to waste time on PC games such as world of warcraft and to actually learn new cool things while using my computer. Cool new things to mention would be in the lines of Lisp , which I have a course in this semester that is going pretty good so far. While I’m on the subject of computers and such I may as well mention something I am super excited about. This mount we have Corey Haines coming to our Campus thanks to the workings of the ACM, what were going to be up to is a code retreat will be super fun and I can’t wait. If I’m super cool and think to do it I’ll post an update on my thoughts about this, but will see. On the other side of nerdy things Ive been playing a good bit of Pathfinder with my friends, and we are still in the learning phase. One cool thing about this gig is that Andrew butcher set up our campaign on obsidian portal, so if you get a chance you should check it out. Also in the land of RPG’s Ive been working on getting my own Pathfinder setting in the works, this is all living in Google docs right now and I don’t have much to mention on it, but its based largely off the Dark Legacies setting for 3.5. I hope to have some form of a site up for this in the near future. My last note is about school and work, two things which have made me a worry wort over the past few years. I taking 2 CS courses this semester and so far doing very well in them. I’m also taking two GEC’s this semester that are in a positive flow so far. The reason I mention all this is more of a personal note to keep me optimistic, this semester has been going better than my past ones and I want to keep it that way. I mentioned work then reason for this is I need to improve there. I work at an IT department for the university. We use allot of Linux which is another reason Ive been booting it. I need to get down and dirty with this stuff and I keep putting it off for other things, sorta like updating this webpage. Theres a good summary of the last month, and I’ll hopefully be updating more than once a month, note that anyone read this thing anyways.
Back logged.
I haven’t updated in some time, this isn’t good and winter break is no excuse. Things to come are my git/eclipse/windows post and probably a review on the cool new phone I just got, this should all happen tonight.
Git + Eclipse + Windows 7
I recently discovered how to set up ECLIPSE to work with GitHub, and did this all on Windows 7 in a generally painless method. I’ll punch out the details of how this was preformed this weekend, but right now I have Java to code. To see what I’m working on check out my public repo on the hub https://github.com/cgutshal.
Legend of Mana OST Part.2
Figured I’d post my favorite track from the game, Memory of Running. Its from a level where you help a some fairies slay a evil yeti. Heres a sprite of the place. They live in snowy plains filled with frost covered blue rose bushes called the Fieg Snowfields. This is all too cool. Anyways here’s the tune.
Legend of Mana OST
I’ve recently got back into listening to Video Game OST’s while I work. My all time favorite has and always will be Legend of Mana from SquareEnix. This game had great sprite anomation a cool game system and the backgrounds were great. But the core gold of the game was the soundtrack composed by Yoko Shimomura. I would recommend the soundtrack to anyone who likes some good working tunes, and is a fan of old RPG games. Heres a taste of what the soundtrack contains:
